Industrial Nanotech Inc.’s Nansulate®
Energy Protect™ clear thermal insula-
tion and mold-resistant coating is manu-
factured to insulate and reduce energy
use. The liquid coating is designed to in-
crease thermal resistance of windows,
walls, ceilings, and skylights in commer-
cial buildings and facilities.
The coating can be used over surfaces without changing their look and also
can be painted over with another water-based paint. On windows, the coating
allows approximately 92 percent of visible light through and frosts windows
for security. It can be used over many
building surfaces such as brick, dry-wall, finished walls, wood, stucco, and
concrete.
This nanotechnology-based coating
is nontoxic, low odor, and low VOC and
Insulation coating increases thermal resistance of windows, walls
is applied with standard paint sprayers,
rollers, or brushes. It insulates surfaces while also protecting them from
mold growth, moisture, and UV light.
It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use
and can be used as retrofit insulation
for older buildings and solid-wall construction. The average reported energy
savings is 15 to 30 percent, states the
company.

LittleFootprint™ Lighting manufactures sustainably designed
LED task lighting products from recycled materials, including
plastic and steel
from e-waste,
such as cell
phones and computers.
The manufacturer reports that products designed from recycled materials require less energy to produce than those
made from virgin materials. By sourcing its materials in California, the company saves energy by reducing transportation
costs as well.
The LED bulbs use less energy than incandescent, halogen, or compact fluorescent bulbs, and they last longer as
well, states the company. They also produce less heat, helping to reduce the need for air conditioning.
