Skipping Stone, Los Angeles, has announced that on May 1 Ross Malme
joined the firm as a partner and member of the board of directors as an equity owner. He is based out of Skipping
Stone’s Atlanta office. A recognized
authority on demand response, smart
grid, and energy technology, Malme
leads business and corporate development for these fast-growing areas.
Malme has more than 25 years of
leadership experience in the energy
and technology industries, including
executive-level roles with Schneider
Electric’s Demand Response Resource
Center, Enron Energy Services, Sch-

lumberger, and Chevron. He also was
the founder and CEO of RETX, a demand response technology firm, which
has since been acquired by Schneider
Electric. He has served as chairman of
Peak Load Management Alliance and
has formed a global demand response
initiative in conjunction with the International Energy Agency.
He has a B.S. degree in chemical
engineering and an MBA in industrial
marketing and finance.

Cryopak manufactures HDPE
gel packs in reusable trays
Cryopak, a producer of temperature-controlled products in Edison, N.J., now
manufactures gel packs in reusable
plastic trays. The initiative serves two
purposes: It reduces the amount of
corrugate to zero, and the hard packs
freeze much faster, which saves energy
costs and pallet positions in freezers.
The project, which started at Cryopak’s Montreal location, can be offered
at other locations in the U.S., Canada,
and Europe.

names new U.S. general
manager
Atlas Copco Compressors has named
Andrew Walker as
general manager for
its U.S. operations,
with headquarters
in Rock Hill, S.C.
He succeeds Paul
Walker has a master’s degree in engineering and business administration
from the University College of Dublin.
He joined the company in 1986 and
has held positions in aftermarket and
equipment sales and management in
Ireland, Great Britain, and Belgium. In
2001 Walker was named aftermarket
marketing manager for the Industrial
Air Division; in 2005 he was appointed
vice president marketing-equipment for
the division. In 2007 he returned to Ireland as general manager for the Customer Center there.
